John Krygier led team wins it all!
The Alaska Aces, #4 seed in the Wales Conference, came into the championship game fresh off of upsetting the #1 and #3 seeds. Meanwhile, the Ray Perrotta coached Rockford Ice Hogs came in as the #1 seed from the Campbell conference.
The first period saw both teams only score 1 point, but with 2 points in the 2nd, the Ice Hogs head into the 3rd period with a slim 3-1 lead.
With only 1 game left on the NHL slate, neither team had scored in the 3rd. Alaska's 3pt pick, Colorado was down by 2 goals heading to their 3rd period - where they promptly scored 4 goals, giving them the win and propelling Alaska to the 4-3 win!
It was great to be back on the ice this year after several seasons off and we look forward to seeing everyone again this coming winter!
