The Victory Lane Racing O’Reilly Auto Parts Series delivered another shakeup in Race #4 as Will Riney powered to victory in the GOVX 200 at Phoenix Raceway. Riney posted a race-best 268 Race Points to capture his 15th career win and Chevrolet’s second victory of the season. Jay Smogolski followed with a strong runner-up finish, continuing his steady climb back into contention, while Shane Burton and Stephen DiCaprio delivered impressive top-five performances in a race that saw Ford drivers heavily represented near the front of the field.
Despite the Phoenix victory, the championship picture remains firmly under the control of Jack Thesier. The Disney Toyota driver finished 11th and still holds a commanding 31-point lead through four races with 188 points. Steve Ruth has quietly moved into second with consistent results, while EchoPark winner Scott Polohonki sits third. Riney’s victory vaults him into fourth overall, just ahead of Daytona winner James Fenton and the steadily consistent Jamie Dyke. The battle around the Chase cut line is already intensifying, with Matt Minnich currently holding the 16th position and Dawn Keller sitting just outside the playoff grid as the season heads toward Las Vegas.
