Jamie Dyke crossed the finish line 5th at Phoenix and became a two-time Victory Lane Racing Craftsman Truck Series champion while doing so! 2023 was the first time in the series where there was no elimination races in the playoffs, so gone are the days of the one race champion. Jamie's playoff run saw him score four top ten finishes, which was enough to defeat rookie Malachi Hammerle for the title. Jamie's winless championship season is the first time that has happened since 2015, and fourth time the champion has gone winless overall ('15, '14 and '07).
Rookie Malachi Hammerle had an amazing season, scoring two wins and 30 playoff points. His unfortunate 38th place finish at Phoenix is what killed his run in the end, having to settle for second overall in points, just six points back of Dyke.
Steve Scanlan scored a win this season, and scored his best overall points finish, third. His previous best was 8th in 2018. Zach Kruep finished the season fourth overall in points, bettering his career best 5th from 2017. Adam Maracle finishes 5th overall after a 54th place finish in 2022.
The final race of the season was won by Nick Hevesy - his first career win. Nick was one of five players in 2023 to pick up their first career wins: Malachi Hammerle, Britten Steinfels, Dan Clarke, John DiGiovanni and Hevesy.
Our 19th season of competition comes to a conclusion, and we will look forward excitedly for our 20th season of Truck Series racing at Victory Lane Racing in 2024!
