Congratulations to the 2024 Victory Lane Racing NASCAR Cup Series Champion, Mathew Steinfels! Steinfels began the Championship round with two straight top ten finishes, and led by 18 points heading into the finale at Phoenix - where he finished 36th. However, the cushion was enough, and he was able to claim his first career Victory Lane Racing NASCAR Cup Series title by 11 points. This was Mathew's sixth season in the Cup Series. Mathew finished the playoffs with an average finish of 13.50, which was third best behind Dan Clarke and Tyler Kruep, who both missed the playoffs.
Gary Dadey came oh so close to being a Cup Series champion, finishing 29th at Phoenix and falling just 11 points short. This is Gary's best points finish in his 17th full-time season in the series. His previous best finish was a fourth place overall in 2017.
Greg Miller would have loved to have scored his fourth Victory Lane Racing NASCAR Cup Series Championship, but will have to settle for third after a disappointing championship round. He finished 41st at Phoenix to finish third overall - which is his best performance since winning the championship in 2018.
Malachi Hammerle was a force to be rekoned with in 2024, winning four races and scoring 10 top five finishes. He settles for fourth overall, however, following a struggle in the last three races of the season. Over the last 48 races, Malachi has won 6 of them, the most of anyone during this time.
This season saw many great races, some great competition and lots of fun. Malachi Hammerle won the most races this season, with 4. Bryan Birmingham, Jamie Dyke, Greg Miller and Gary Dadey each had three wins each. Malachi Hammerle and Steve Ruth tied for the most top five finishes, each scoring ten. Terry Smith and Steve Ruth's 17 top 10 finishes were the most of the season.
The rookie of the year was Kirk Hunter, who unfortunately didn't have a ton of competition in the race in 2024. Kirk beats Dan Clarke and Steve Stone, who only started 13 (Clarke) and 12 (Stone) races each.
2024 was our 21st season of NASCAR Cup Series racing, and we are so excited for 2025 and the changes in store - including the summer bracket for the first time ever! Stay tuned!
