Victory Lane Racing

NASCAR Cup Series

rules

Sign Up:

To sign up for the Victory Lane Racing NASCAR Cup Series, visit the Fantasy Sport Site Sign Up Page (link above in menu) and fill out the required fields. Please note that the Cup Series is capped at 43 players. All members are required to participate in another Victory Lane Racing (or In The Groove Racing League) game prior to gaining entry into the Cup Series game.

Victory Lane Racing NASCAR Cup Series Call-Up Rule:

All Victory Lane Racing NASCAR Cup Series players are required to begin their Fantasy Sport Site Racing careers in either In The Groove Racing's NASCAR Cup Series Game, or Victory Lane Racing's Xfinity and Camping World Truck Series games.

There are two ways to be called up to the NASCAR Cup Series:

1. Win the In The Groove Racing's NASCAR Cup Series Championship. The first off-season Cup Series opening will be offered to the In The Groove Champion, if they're not a Victory Lane Racing NASCAR Cup Series Member.

2. Performance based- be the top Victory Lane Xfinity Series driver without a Victory Lane Racing NASCAR Cup Series spot when an opening occurs in the series.

The bottom three finishing players in points are not guaranteed a spot in the series the following season. This will allow for Champions from lower series who do not already have a spot in the higher series to be given a chance in the higher series.

Payment:

The Victory Lane Racing NASCAR Cup Series will require a $5 entry fee for the 2021 season. This will help cover the cost of a Championship trophy and a cash prize for the Champion of the series.

To submit your payment, you can send money through Venmo, Paypal or Cash/Check. Contact webmaster@thefantasysportsite.com for payment options.

Schedule:

Be sure to check out the schedule page for 2021. Note: All race names may not be correct. I took the schedule posted on Jayski.com before the season started and some race sponsors and names may have changed. To see the 2021 Victory Lane Racing NASCAR Cup Series Schedule, click HERE.

Rookie of the Year:

The 2021 Rookie of the Year Rules:

1. To be eligible for the 2020 Victory Lane Racing NASCAR Cup Series Rookie of the Year award, a player can not have started in anymore than 10 races in the Victory Lane Racing NASCAR Cup Series in one season, or 15 races in any seasons combined.

2. The highest finishing rookie will receive ten (10) points, while the second highest will receive eight (8) points. This will continue down through the 5th rookie, who will receive two (2) points. Each rookie receives 1 point just for submitting picks for the race (no picks submitted will receive 0 points, even if they receive provisional points).

3. If a Victory Lane Racing NASCAR Cup Series rookie finishes in the top 10 in a race, they will receive bonus points for whichever position they finished. A win will result in 10 bonus points. 2nd 9 bonus points. 3rd 8 bonus points, and so on, all the way down to 10th, who will receive 1 bonus point. Any finish outside the top 10 will result in 0 bonus points.

4. Each player's best 27 finishes during the Victory Lane Racing NASCAR Cup Series season will count in the final Rookie of the Year standings. Each player's nine (9) lowest scoring races (25%) will be dropped to allow some margin of error for "rookie" mistakes.

Race Entry Lists:

It is recommended that each player check the posted entry list on NASCAR.com, or Jayski.com before submitting picks each week. We will not be responsible for sending out links to the entry list beyond what is posted on weekly pick sheets.

Weekly Pick Sheet:

Players will submit picks for every race. The groups are set up by owner's points. There are 6 groups, which make up the top 25 in owner's points. Group 3 will be a "bonus driver" from groups 1 or 2. Every player has the option of choosing "Other" for group #5 and writing in a driver NOT ALREADY ON THE PICK SHEET IN ANY GROUP. Each player will also pick a manufacturer for each race, and will receive the points for the top finishing driver in that manufacturer (without stage points).

Be sure to enter your name, email address, winning manufacturer and race winner (tie breaker) before entering your picks. To see the pick sheet, click HERE.

*In the event that a driver on the pick sheet doesn't participate in that car, players will receive the points from whoever the driver is in that car for that race. You're picking the car, not the driver.*

Picks Deadline:

Weekly deadlines will be the night before each race. For a Sunday race, picks will be due at midnight EST on Saturday night. You may change any of your drivers up until the deadline. Once the deadline has passed, you may not change your picks under any circumstances (we reserve the right to change the entry deadline for any race with notice). Late picks will not be accepted.

Provisionals:

Each player will be allowed three (3) provisionals during the regular season. If picks are not submitted before the deadline, a player's picks from the previous race will be rolled-over to the next race, and they will earn:

1st Provisional: 100% of the points earned by previous race's drivers (not cars, so if it is a different driver in a car, you will receive zero points). Any wins by a player using a provisional will not make a player eligible for the playoffs. They must still win another race or earn their way in by points to be eligible.

2nd Provisional: 50% of the points earned by previous race's drivers (not car).

3rd Provisional: 25% of the points earned by previous race's drivers (not car).

*players will NOT earn playoff points when using a provisional*

Provisionals may only be used during the regular season. No provisionals will be granted during the playoffs, if players fail to submit picks, they will receive 0 points and a DNS (did not start).

If a player has two or more provisionals during the regular season, they must qualify for the playoffs by points (any wins become ineligible).

If a player misses picks two races in a row, they will not earn points for the race (but still use one of their allowed provisionals), resulting in zero points for that race and a DNS (did not start).

After three provisionals are used, and failure to submit picks for a fourth time, the player will be removed from the league.

Scoring:

Determining a race Winner: Each player will choose 6 drivers per race. Your 6 diver's points added up will be your "Race Points". The player with the highest amount of race points is that week's race winner. Each player will also pick a manufacturer for each race, and will receive the points for the top finishing driver in that manufacturer (without stage points).

Determining a Season Champion: The first 26 races of the season will be the "regular season", followed by 4 playoff rounds comprised of 10 races. At the end of each race, the winner will receive 40 points, and then second through 35th will be awarded points on a 35-to-2 scale. Those finishing 36th to 43rd will be awarded one point.

  • Players will carry bonus points - called "playoff points" - throughout the entire playoffs (instead of just the first round) when the points get reset at playoff time. Players will earn five playoff points for every race win and will earn a playoff point for any segment the drivers they choose win throughout the season.
  • The top-10 players in the standings at the conclusion of the regular season also earn additional playoff points on a 15-10-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 scale. Players will continue to accumulate points throughout the playoffs and carry all of the points earned during the year into each of the first three playoff rounds.
  • Qualifying for the playoffs remains the same - the regular-season champion plus 15 players based on wins with ties broken by points will get into the playoffs, as long as they are in the top 25 in the standings.
  • The playoffs will remain divided into three three-race rounds with four players eliminated after each round to set up four finalists for the season finale at Phoenix Raceway. Players automatically qualify into the next round with a win in that playoff round, and the remaining spots filled by the point standings. At Phoenix, the top-finishing player among the four finalists at the end of the race wins the Victory Lane Racing NASCAR Cup Series Championship!

Playoff Points:

There will be segments during each NASCAR Cup Series race that will help players earn "playoff points". These playoff points will be accumulated throughout the regular season, and each playoff point will be added to each player's reset total following race No. 26, if that competitor makes the playoffs.

Playoff points can be earned three ways:

1. Players will earn any playoff points earned by their drivers in the first two segments of each race. Example: A driver you chose wins the first and second segment of the race, you will earn two (2) playoff points. Players will not earn the 5 playoff points if a driver they chose wins the overall race.

2. A player that wins a Victory Lane Racing NASCAR Cup Series race will earn 5 playoff points per win.

3. At the end of the regular season, the top 10 players in the point standings will receive playoff points, with the regular season champion earning 15 playoff points that will be added to the driver's playoff reset. Second place receives 10 playoff points, third place will earn 8 points, fourth place will receive 7 points, and so on. All playoff points will carry through to the end of the Round of 8.

Tie Breaking:

In a Race: If there is a tie in a race, the player's choice of a race winner will be their tie breaker. Whoever's driver finishes highest, wins that tie. If the drivers who tied have the same race winner, the player highest in points entering the race wins the tie.

*For the first race of each season, the points will revert back to the final season standings from the previous season*

In the points (at the end of the season): If there is a tie in the point standings, the player with the most wins will win the tie. If the two players are tied with wins, it will go top 5's, top 10's and if all else fails, whoever was highest in points the previous race.

In the points during the playoffs: If there is a tie in the point standings between two playoff drivers at the cutoff of a three race playoff round, the tie will be broken by the tied player's best finishing position in the races during that playoff round. Example: Player 1 finishes 6th, 34th and 40th in the three races, and Player 2 finished 7th, 33rd and 39th in the three races... Player 1 wins with a best finish of 6th.

Facebook Group:

The Fantasy Sport Site has a Facebook Group for all of the players in all games. It is recommended that each player in each of the games requests to join our group, as the administrators for the games will be in contact with everyone there. To go to the Facebook group and request to join, click HERE.

Race Errors/Changes:

There will be a one week window where points can change after a race. If you add up your points and find an error, let webmaster@thefantasysportsite.com know within 7 days and action will be taken to fix that error. After 7 days, the results are frozen and can no longer be changed.

Rule Changes:

We reserve the right to change or amend any rule during the season. Any change that occurs will happen before a race and will not affect the outcome of any previous race. Any rule changes will be posted on the site and emailed to all members.
